The future of work - a shift in workplace culture

Dr Nicole McDonald is a Senior Research Officer within the Agricultural Education and Extension research cluster at Central Queensland University’s Institute for Future Farming Systems. Her work takes a lifespan perspective to workforce and current projects focus on the agriculture talent pipeline from kindergarten through to working adults. She has been conducting workforce research with the Australian Cotton Industry since 2014 in projects focusing on work engagement, job satisfaction and the future of work for growers and their employees. Nicole’s research has been recognised by the Career Development Association of Australia (2019 Excellence in Research Award) and presented to delegates at the UNESCO Chair on Lifelong Guidance and Counselling (2015). She is an alumnus of the National Farmers Federation 2030 Leaders program (2018), and the Australian Future Cotton Leaders program (2021) and is a current member of the management committee for the Association of Australian Cotton Scientists.
