HUTCHINSON Michael

Michael Hutchison is the principal fisheries scientist with the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, based at the Bribie Island Research Centre. His role is to conduct research to help sustain and enhance fisheries in freshwater and estuarine habitats, with a particular focus on recreational species. Apart from work on entrainment of fish through irrigation infrastructure, he has worked on optimising survival of stocked fish, habitat enhancement and restoration to improve fishing in rivers, fish attracting structures in impoundments and breeding of key recreational fish species to help restore their populations.
