Robotics in the field

Jamie Grant and his wife Susie run a farm of 2000 hectares on back soil plains at “Kielli” near Jimbour on the Darling Downs in South East Queensland. Jamie has long been recognised throughout the wider industry as an innovative cotton grower and is a long term participant in the Jimbour Brigalow Flood Plain Group.
As key part of his cotton operation, Jamie grows French White Millet as a cover crop between his cotton rows to store moisture and prevent soil erosion. Jamie began his journey in autonomous agriculture back in 2019 when he deployed his first autonomous robot into spraying operations. He now has two robots working on his farm, with a third robot to be deployed this season.
