Dr Joseph Foley is an Associate Professor and Team Lead of the Irrigation & Water Management Research team at the Centre for Agricultural Engineering, University of Southern Queensland. Joe is a qualified Engineer (Agricultural) and Member of the Institute of Engineers Australia. He specialises in Irrigation Engineering on topics ranging from centre pivot, lateral move and automated surface irrigation optimisation, to sprinkler performance in wind, advanced crop evapotranspiration techniques and pump energy consumption. Joe is a co-recipient of the 2018 Cotton Seed Distributors Researcher of the Year Award. Joe has most recently led research projects in automated broad-acre irrigation optimisation in cotton and dairy as part of the Smarter Irrigation for Profit Research Program.
