BATE Andrew

As the creator and CEO of SwarmFarm Robotics, Andrew is the chief visionary, leveraging his experience as a successful grain farmer and his deep knowledge of robotics to drive the successful development of the SwarmBot.

Andrew has spent a lifetime in agriculture; he trained as an agronomist at the University of Queensland, and has spent the last 24 years farming wheat, sorghum, chickpea and mungbeans in Central Queensland.

In 2010 he instigated a joint research program with the University of Sydney and Queensland University of Technology to develop the technology necessary for robotic agriculture. In 2012 he founded SwarmFarm Robotics as a startup technology company to commercialize robots for agriculture.

Today, SwarmFarm Robotics has grown to be a leading ag robotic company, and one of the first to deliver commercial robots to farmers. To date, SwarmFarm has delivered 32 robots to farmers across Australia, with 55,000 hours of commercial operation in the field and over one million acres commercial farmed with SwarmFarm robots.
