Perspective on GM (Cotton) Plants
Sander van der Krol has extensive experience in the field of genetic engineering of plants, both for research and practical applications. His work with silencing plant genes by antisense RNA has been applied worldwide and led to the discovery of a new layer of gene regulation in animals and plants. Sander has demonstrated his research work to change the colour and shape of flowers and more recently, specialising in clock regulated gene dynamics using “glowing” plants. His current research has the support of a record number of horticultural companies to dissect the molecular regulation of plant cell elongation with potential applications in cotton.
