Heart of Australia was the branchild of Brisbane cardiologist and principal of Medihearts Dr Rolf Gomes.

From humble beginnings Rolf worked in electrical engineering before pursuing a career in medicine with the desire to do something useful with his life.

After six years of intensive planning, Rolf launched Heart of Australia, bringing cardiology specialist services to the bush. The 18-wheeler clinic that Rolf personally designed has to date serviced more than 3700 GP referred patients, providing essential cardiology diagnosis and care.

Rolf is currently working on a second larger clinic on wheels that will allow him to take more specialists doctors on the road.
