Associate Professor Grant Hose is an ecologist and ecotoxicologist, and has a long history of research supporting the cotton industry. His research focusses on the diversity and role of microbes and invertebrates that live in aquifers, and how these are affected by natural and human induced changes. A/Prof Hose and his colleagues have developed, with the support of the CRDC, a world first tool for assessing the health of groundwater ecosystems. He is passionate about improving the sustainability of groundwater use, and understanding how healthy groundwater ecosystems contribute to agricultural and rural productivity.
