Scholarships Available For Educators, University and High School Students

Cotton Australia is offering educators and students assistance to attend the Australian Cotton Conference, to be held on the Gold Coast from 7-9 August this year.

“This is part of our broader education program that is focused on engaging with young people to create pathways to the cotton industry,” Cotton Australia Education Coordinator, Ali Briggs said.

“The best way to link industry to people is through the education system. We want to attract young, bright, innovative people to work in the cotton industry, and if this sounds like you then come to Conference to see how you may have a future with us,” she said.

The scholarships are open to any teacher, highschool or primary, who is interested in delivering cotton education within the school curriculum. Successful teacher applicants will receive:
• FREE registration for Day 1 of Conference
• Return flights and accommodation on the Gold Coast
• Teacher Release Payment

University students can also apply for a scholarship, with no limits on the type of course being studied, although a connection to agriculture is required. Successful applicants will receive:
• FREE registration for three full days of Conference
• Return flights and accommodation on the Gold Coast
• Mentoring sessions with industry leaders and experts
• Connections to industry leaders

There are also heavily subsidised rates for High School students and teachers attending Conference together.
